About the Program
The NU-IDEA program creates an on-campus entrepreneurship ecosystem that brings together startup ideas, personal coaching, mentoring, prototyping, seed funding and investor pitching for students to start building new ventures.
It is a support system that is ready to assist in validating raw student ideas and in converting them into viable ventures through a proprietary venture development process, one step at a time. With NU-IDEA, our partners get more than online courses.
We provide country-specific design and local, on-the-ground implementation support, as well as ongoing assistance and ecosystem assessment to track improvements.
Northeastern is a globally recognized leader in experiential entrepreneurship education, where the IDEA program has created successful ventures for over eleven years.
Key Elements
Northeastern University has its own internationally recognised incubation program called IDEA. The programs helps and guides the ventures from idea to launch stage. The purely process driven approach will help ventures identify market opportunities, validate business ideas, design the solutions, implement channel strategies etc. and prepare them to launch their venture.
The IDEA incubation process is divided into three stages Ready, Set and Go. Each stage is designed for attaining specific objectives for development of the venture. Ventures go through a pitch to move from one stage to the other.
The program offers experiential entrepreneurship courses along with workbooks which can be integrated with the curriculum. This serves as a support system for the initiation and development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem at the institute.
The implementation of the coursework done through a train-the -trainer model designed for the selected faculty from the institute who would be delivering the courses.
The venture development process is further supported by different elements which act as pillars for the development of an ecosystem of entrepreneurship. Each of the ecosystem elements serves a purpose like promotional activities, funding and lab access for prototype development and access to network of mentors for specific venture requirements.
The local program management team based out of your country helps with on-the-ground coordination, and assists in the deployment of implementation strategies, training the new staff and providing the day-day guidance on the venture process.
